I can see a lot of people here have by-passed the 8GB and gone straight for the 16GB Touch model.

We can speculate that at some point in the near future, Apple will probably release a 16GB iPhone too, given that they've already fitted that amount of flash into a Touch sized package.

Given the example of the 4GB iPhone being discontinued only 2 months after launch, if sales figures are poor for the 8GB Touch, will Apple drop it altogether and stick with the 16GB only?

Edit: I'm not talking about the next product cycle as some have suggested, I'm thinking that Apple might just give up the 8GB model as a bad idea right from the start.

I think the next product cycle will be 16gb and 32 gb.

I have the 8gb because i'll probably just delete movies when i've watched them once or twice. And yes, i bet the 8gb is gone in a month or two.

No, they won't drop it until they launch the next size up.

Which will be in two months. ;)
