will apple replace an ear-bud?

i have a pair of apple in-ear earphones w/ remote. and i also have a small middle ear. thus i use the small ear-buds. a week ago i lost one of my small ear-buds, so for the past week i've been using the medium ones. they hurt after a little while and constantly fall out.

i've read somewhere that the apple store will replace missing keys on their notebooks, even out of warranty.

now to my question, will they give me one free ear-bud?

It's worth a shot, but I would imagine given the amount of cases they see like this it's really a case-by-case thing. I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar and see if you can get lucky.

Look to see if anyone in the Marketplace will be willing to trade.

I lost a medium one but found someone to trade their M for my smalls. If I still had my S I'd be more than happy to trade.
