Will Apple replace/fix a non-fonctioning iphone for money?

Hello guys

I was wondering if I could pay around $200 to get an iphone 5 replaced/fixed by apple. The device isn't working, it's been water damaged and can't even be activated or recognized in itunes.

Quick online search for "out of warranty iphone 5 cost" seems to show that it runs $269 these days.

Ok thanks but I need a way to get the serial number, itunes won't detect the phone

The serial number is etched on to the back of the phone. If you are near an Apple Store you should just go in and deal with it as they'll do the paperwork then.

I don't believe this is the case with the iPhone 5/5c/5s, unless they can look up the SN by using the IMEI as a cross reference.

Apple will have a way to figure out what they need to if you bring it in.

Pretty sure Apple's web site still lists 5/5C/5S as $269 for OOW replacement.
