Will Apple replace my screen (UK) ?

I have an apple iphone 5 where the screen is shattered, and im pretty sure the digitizer/screen behind it is damaged too because it just goes white or blurry now so it is unusable..

A friend said to me Apple will replace it for a fee..around £150? I didnt think this was the case, especially as I will will prob require a replacement (refurbished) phone?

I would normally just go in and ask but wanted to check before as have been so busy at work !

Any help is appreciated...as i am currently suffering on my work phone...s3!

I'm not one to be a pedant, but the cost is actually £179. The £186.44 includes shipping if you're not replacing it at an Apple Store.
