No - they won't go on sale till Steve says so. Generally the goods aren't in stock right away so it doesn't really matter.

ok so that doesnt answer all my questions. what has happened in the past?

and apple gets stock in all the time before hand. apparently they already have gotten the shipments of new macbooks. so heres to hoping they have them in stock tuesday if not wednesday.

That rumor was a month ago. I highly doubt that the computers have been sitting in storage for a month with NO leaks.

Apple sometimes will get new shipments in just before the product announcement. Nothing has been said about it yet but it wouldn't surprise me if they wanted to get these portables out now.

so what happened with the nanos a month ago? Were they in stock that day? Or did they go on sale around 3 here on the east coast?

If the stores have stock (most likely) they will put them out after the announcement...around 11 AM Pacific.

Actually the East Coast is only 3 hours ahead of us over here on the West

just wait til Steve says 1-2-3 Go. Really need to know this late at night?

Does everyone have to speculate about EVERY single part of this?

What next, What do you think Steve is going to eat right before??? Or, how many times is Steve gonna wipe after he goes #2??

How about what he eats for breakfast? Perhaps that fact alone can give us some insight into the new MacBooks...

I agree with you - it's out of control.

I was able to get my SR MBP back in February the same day that Steve announced them at the Apple store.... granted that they didn't get them in stock till 8pm, but hey, I still got it the same day of the Keynote.

Picture someone going into an Apple Store tomorrow morning to buy a MacBook or MacBook Pro with no knowledge of the updates. Ugh.
