Trying to swap out my gold 6+ for a space gray. Will AT&T be getting additional shipments?

Sure wasn't going to walk out empty handed. That's why there's a 14 day return policy.

apparently he didn't know about preorders lol

Good luck getting a 6+ inside an at&t store for a while
I was in my local AT&T store yesterday getting my SIM replaced and the rep taking names down were saying for the 6 and 6 Plus they were taking pre-orders but it would probably be a 2-3 week wait.

That's for actually ordering. That's not for exchanging. Stores need stock on hand to exchange, or the user has to return a phone completely, reverse an upgrade, and place a brand new order. They won't have "on hand" stock of the 6+ for quite some time based on fulfillment time frames.

When I worked for Sprint we didn't have separate stock for 14-day exchanges. If your new iphone was defective the day after launch or you changed your mind and there was no sellable stock you either went to apple or were SOL until more came in. For defects after 14 days we always had to order refurbs. I can't speak for other carriers though.

I had an opportunity to get the gold 64GB 6 and am now regretting that I did not get it. I like the gold, and it would have been fun telling anyone who thought it was for ladies only to ***** off! I will have to wait for the space grey, which is OK.

I went to the ATT store to see about swapping my Plus for a 6, thinking the 6 would be readily available and only the plus was back ordered. I was told a replacemt phone would take 2-3 weeks. What they suggested was paying full price for the new phone and having it shipped to the store. Then when it arrived, most likely after the 14 days return period on the phone I have, they would refund the full price I paid, and exchange it for the one I didn't want. My other option was to return the phone I got and order a new one, again that's 2-3 weeks.

Bottom line, they aren't expecting any in store stock for several weeks!
