Will att be recieving random shipments?

I was just wondering because I prepaid for my black 16gb iPhone today about 45mins ago and the guy told me that i shouldn't expect to get my iPhone to next week or even 2 weeks from now. That would suck!!! So does anybody know if att stores will be recieving random shipments that are not for the preordered phones. I have been waiting for this iPhone 3G for a really long time now and want it A.S.A.P

the store we got ours at yesterday said they were going to get a few every day but if people who were not able to physically buy one should order it instore instead of coming back every day to check if they had any in stock. it seems like apple stores have plenty though??

Yea, i hear that apple stores have plenty in stock but the closest apple store for me is the king of prussia one and thats two hours away
