Will autosave documents autodelete when finish or delete?

Like the title say I was just wondering if autosave documents will autodelete once we done or delete the actual document? The reason I ask is because I'm limited with space on my MBA so I try to keep as much space as I can.

I'm not sure if you lock your document the version data will be erased. It will be deleted though, once you remove the document. (version data is tied to that)
