will changing sleep mode to not write to HD effect Lion

I am wanting to use the terminal command to change the settings for sleep mode like I had it in SL. I used

sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0

this setting does not write anything to the HD and allows for faster wakes. Has anyone does this in Lion and seen any side effects?

Yes, I did that too and is has the same effect it had in Snow Leopard: Faster sleep.

Of course wake time is the same as it's in default hibernatemode: In both modes your mac wakes up from ram. The only difference is that default hibernate mode (3) can also wake from hard disk in case of power loss.
Thats why it takes longer to go to sleep than mode 0, it additionally writes the content of your ram to your hard disk.

So, in hibernatemode 0 sleep time is significantly shorter but wake time is the same. And you have a higher risk of data loss.
