Hello i am a macbook pro owner and I'm wanting to buy the game CS:GO. I want to know if it will run well on my macbook pro.
Here are my specs:
MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2.53GHz, Mid 2009)
Processor: 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory: 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB

Your setup is higher than the minimum settings, so it will run ok.

Minimum:
  • OS: MacOS X 10.6.6 or higher
  • Processor: Intel Core Duo Processor (2GHz or better)
  • Memory: 2 GB RAM
  • Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 2400 or better / NVidia 8600M or better
  • Hard Drive: 8 GB available space

It will run ok, "well" is relative, You may end up having to adjust settings to suit your preference/gfx capabilities...

Don't buy CS:GO for the Mac. Valve doesn't support the Mac version adequately. Only the Windows version is descent.

I've been playing CS:GO on both OSX and in bootcamp with Windows 10 preview, and there's almost no difference minus the occasional bug. I've ranked up to gold nova master playing mostly on OSX in less than 80 hours. That said, I have a 2015 15" MBP so it might be different

The problem is that these bugs have been there for years and are still not fixed while the Windows version is fine. It's the worst Mac game that I own as it still feels like a beta product.

I only play the Windows version for that reason.

What bug are you talking about? Didn't have a single problem with CS:GO on Mac so far...

Simple bugs that are easy to fix like a mouse getting stuck or disappearing. Never seen such things in any game before and it's not a problem of my computer because it's isolated to this game only and other users on steam also have reported these types of bugs.

It's 2015 and these bugs still exist which is sign Valve only pays attention to the Windows client.

I play plenty of Source games and there is literally no difference between Mac and PC. In fact, I have CSS installed on both Mac and Bootcamp on my iMac for convenience. CS:GO is exception and has been a mess since it was released even in Windows from my experience. Definitely a bit worse on the Mac side. Of course, I'm playing modded servers like zombie escape 90% of the time, so that might have something to do with it. Definitely didn't take long for me to go back to CSS.

What settings on a 2015 MBP? Max?

This notebook should really have a 9600M GT GPU. A 9400M is not as good as a 8600M. That is a integrated GPU and a poor one. CS/GO would run with low res and lowest settings and then still not very well.
