Will deleting a G-cal from my iCal delete it completely?

As in, remove it from 'the cloud' as well?

I really just want it to not be synced to my iCal anymore, but still to exist separately.

I have it unchecked in the calendar list, but I'm still getting notifications from it for some reason. If I could just stop that it would be cool too.
