If there's a thread where this has been answered, please point me to it. I've run out of patience searching.

I have a Power Mac G5 running OS X 10.3.9 with the Ge Force 5200 video card. Will the Dell 2005 FPW work seamlessly with this configuration?

There are posts on Apple's support forum that raise doubts. Seems that the resolution can't be adjusted properly without third party software, and even then the monitor won't work when connected with the DVI cable.

Thing is, the guts of this monitor are the same as the Apple 20" Cinema Display, and my computer meets the system requirements for the ACD...

Bottom line: can I plug the Dell in and have zero hassle?

Should work perfectly. I have the same monitor hooked up to my 12" PB and my G4 PowerMac. The PM has a GeForce 2MX and it can even run at the native resolution.

I guess there's only one way to find out...

I've ordered the monitor, so I'll know for sure Thursday or so.

The dell will work with pretty much anything. It has VGA and DVI so your options are open there, any video card in the last ~4-5 years (at least) should be able to pump out 1680x1050.

It works!

I didn't have anything to worry about. This thing arrived Tuesday night, and all I had to do was plug it in.
