My understanding is the LTE will work the same way as the BT but will give you the LTE connection once the BT is not in range. Most apps on the iPhone such as corporate email etc go though the iPhone and then to he watch. I wonder what apps will not work if the phone is off? I would imaging things like corporate exchange email etc will not work if the phone is off such as a dead battery etc.
