In other words, if my girlfriend or boyfriend calls me while connected to wi-fi, and I am too, will the phone call automatically go to Face Time?

I think this would be an invasion of privacy because there are some things and activities I do in my personal life, that I don't want my friends or family members or significant other to know about.

What say you?

I don't think so... facetime is an app so when in a regular call, it won't automatically launch... you have to go to the facetime app then initiate the call. At least, that it how I understand it to work.

I'm more concerned by the fact that you don't know if you have a boyfriend or a girlfriend. There are some pretty simple tests you can do to figure it out, I'd suggest checking on that the next time you get a chance.

No its not. its an option on the screen whilst in a phone call just like mute or showing the onscreen keyboard...

its his decision what "activities he gets up to in his personal life... without his relatives knowing"

You know, I don't even know why I'm entertaining this reply, but here goes:

There is this thing called bisexual people, you know. Yes, they exist. NOT saying I'm one, but I just don't know why this concept is so foreign to you.

sexuality aside lol from watchin mr jobs and a couple of hands on videos you initiate a normal call and then get the 6 boxes up on screen as normal except one is for facetime so I am curious how it all works cause if you have to initiate a normal call does it treat it as a call and have the video going by wifi?

If the screen shots are accurate, it looks like the hold button while in an active call has been replaced by a FaceTime button. So to me, I hope anyway, you can start and stop it during a regular call.

Hmm, yeah. That'd be extra awkward should video chat let that cat out of the bag. I'm surprised that Steve didn't go over this scenario while demonstrating it.

I think we’re talking about 3 people here: a boyfriend, a girlfriend, and a significant other (sex undetermined). I’m surprised the username is XciteMe with all that going on.

At any rate, I would imagine it’ll be like MMS. You’re in a call and they’ll be an icon to turn on Face Time, just like in MMS there’s an icon to use a pic.

Hi sorry if this is a silly question, will 3GS users see the iPhone 4 user on facetime during a wi-fi call?

Didn't Steve Jobs suggest that FaceTime won't work unless you turn your WiFi off? I think he said something like it works really well, especially when people turn their WiFi off! :D
