One would think. However, to my knowledge there has never been a major update to iChat outside of an OS X update except the debut of iChat AV.
 
no it will not just like current video chat options on phones don't offer the ability to integrate to MSN, AIM etc however they (apple) are allowing developers to use the camera so what is stopping someone writing an ichat app??
 
this would be good if it did. i have family out of town w/ mac's and it could come in handy
 
At launch it will not. But Facetime is apparently going to be an open standard that Apple will promote. Eventually, you will be able to video chat with devices that aren't iPhone 4's. Skype will probably work on it, and Apple will probably use FaceTime in some way with iChat.
