I am new to the Mac world and I have a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.8.5. I was shocked this weekend that my teenager son was able to hack into my MacBook Pro using the .applesetupdone trick. So, my question is: Will enabling FileVault stop others from booting the system into single user mode (CMD+S) and recovery mode (CMD+R)? In any case, will anyone be able to hack into the system in anyway if FileVault is enabled?

Thanks. Please help.

Yes, having FileVault on will stop all those methods of getting in. I have yet to read of anyone able to crack FileVault encryption.
