I'm replacing the HD in my 2.4GHz Macbook Pro with an SSD and moving the HD to replace the optical drive. Will the HD boot up initially when connected to the optical drive port? I'm using a HD to ODD converter bay from newmodeUS.

I'm going to take a crack at this. I'm not certain or know for fact but the HDD moved to the optical bay would still be considered as a SuperDrive so it won't look there unless you get to the boot screen by pressing the "OPTION" or "C" key. By default it will boot off the SSD.

There could be a boot script you might be able to create but again not certain.

No problem - just move it to the optical drive - run the OSX installer and choose which drive you want to install the OS to. boots no problem.

Thanks guys. When I booted up the first time after the switch, my main HD booted automatically. :) I then installed 10.6 on the SSD. Everything went really well and I'm very happy. The Macbook Pro feels much snappier now.
