i hate how in order to use homesharing all your devices but use the same wifi network. Will they every expand it or find a way a to do it without the wifi? Meaning you can access your itunes from wherever you are? using wifi (doesn't have to be same network) or 3G? Is this where the mobile me come into play and allow us to do just that?

There are apps that allow streaming over 3G such as Stream2Me. Only issue I have with this app is setting up my home network for port forwarding to allow streaming over 3G  Will Homesharing allow it is the million dollar question.

My guess is that it will be a new feature of iOS 5 / the updated Mobile Me service.

Will it work with digital copies of movies? i tried air video, but it wont allow playing any digital copies.

I haven't tried the app with movies only music. The app is $3 if you wanna try it out.

Do you think it'll work this way:

Doing hotspot from my iphone to ipad, and trying to watch movies through this app on my ipad.
