Hi!

I ordered a RMBP to replace my 2009 MBP. I also ordered a Thunderbolt Display. Right now I connect my MBP to a Cinema Display (23) which has a DVI connector (I use a Mini Display port to DVI adapter).

I wonder if there is any way to connect the RMBP to the Thunderbolt Display AND the Cinema Display at the same time. Maybe using an adapter?

I saw this
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005UABJW8/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00

Maybe I can use it from the Thunderbolt to the DVI connector in the Cinema Display? Does anybody have the RMBP configured like that?

Thanks for your answers.

Gus

Your rMBP has two thunderbolt ports, so yes.. with two thunderbolt cables.

Edit: Ah.. and a DVI adapter.

Also, I believe you can chain the cinema display onto the thunderbolt display, only using one thunderbolt port on your mac.. but I don't know for sure. I know for sure you can chain two thunderbolt displays, so it seems reasonable you could use the adapter and chain the cinema. If you can't, you still have two ports that will work fine.

13. Can I connect a Mini DisplayPort display to my Apple Thunderbolt Display for computers that support using more than one display?

Mini DisplayPort displays will not function if connected to the Thunderbolt port of an Apple Thunderbolt Display. Displays connected via Mini DisplayPort video adapter or cable to the Thunderbolt port of an Apple Thunderbolt Display will not work.

So you can't chain it.. but you still have two ports on your mac, so the answer to your question is yes.. it will work, but you'll have to plug both of them to your mac.
