I pre-ordered the iPhone 6, but I may be interested in the Plus model. Would it be possible to go to the Apple Store to exchange it and pay the difference in price to get the Plus model even after I have open the package up and used my iPhone 6?

Apple doesn't do exchanges, just refunds. You would get a full refund on your order if it's within 14 days and then you would be able to purchase a new device.

Thats not true. Within 14 days the OP can return a device to Apple and exchange it for something else. I've done it before.

You'll have to hope they have stock of what you want within the 14 days of you getting the phone. That might be the tricky part.

GSM Arena is showing the specs for the iPhone 6+ with 2GB RAM...

If that's the case, I may also want to return my 4.7" and buy the 5.5". Ugh I wish I didn't have to choose between a laundry list of higher end features (camera, screen, internals, battery) or a form factor that I'm more OK with.

You can, you just have to hope they have it in stock before the 14 days are up!

I doubt you'll be able to go from a 6 to a 6+, but you'd probably be able to exchange a 6+ for a 6 within the 14-day window. There appears to be tremendously more stock of the 6 right now.

Why wouldn't I be able to go from 6 to 6+. It should be the same shouldn't it?

Check around for the shipping dates on these phones. At Verizon the 6 is still estimated to arrive on 9/19 while most 6+ phones are now estimated at 10/21. Finding a 6+ in stock will be the hard part, not the exchange.

Keep in mind if you pre-ordered and get your iPhone 6, the odds of getting an available iPhone 6 plus to exchange is probably slim since most will be used for existing pre-orders and sales - at least within your 14 day window.

I see, well is it possible to change my order? I already pre-ordered the iPhone 6. :/

I'm sure you can cancel and place a new order for a 6+, but unfortunately you won't get it until the end of October at the earliest. Initial supplies of the 6+ are simply gone at this point.

Well I pre-ordered my iPhone 6 on the day it first became available, however i'm on a trip for 3 weeks and won't be back until Oct 3rd, will I still be able to return my iPhone 6 at an Apple Retail store and get an iPhone 6+? The box isn't open or anything. So does the 14 day rule still apply to unopened items?

their policy does not say opened vs unopened it just says 14 calendar days
