Hello all. I know AT&T is letting people keep their grandfathered plans, but I want to use my moms upgrade and wanted to know if I will be able to keep my plan even though she is not on a grandfathered one.
I believe the answer is yes. Buy the phone and extend moms contract for another 2 years, then swap devices - move the new phone to your line. The unlimited stays with the line, not the device.

Dial 611 and get an answer directly from an ATT rep right now.
Usually, the upgrade is offered per account and it's for hardware so the answer is likely 'yes'. If the grandfathered UDP is on your phone number and you share an account with her and she has a hardware upgrade available you may need her to give permission depending on who is the primary (owner) of the account.
I would say yes but there is a difference with this phone. I did what you are planning to do when I went to 4s from 4 but it was the same data. Now it goes to LTE so I'm not sure.

Yes you can. For details, you could read the few dozen threads with this exact same question, many on the very first page. There is a right and wrong way, and a some gotcha's that you need to be aware of.
