I plan on doing a clean install of Lion this weekend on my MBP. Before I do this I intend backing up all my data. My itunes content (music, apps etc) will just be copied to an external drive. My okan is just to copy the whole itunes folder, which includes the Library.xml file

Once I have installed Lion, I plan to copy this whole itunes folder back to my mac.
*
My question is when I open iTunes for the first time, will I still have all my playlists displayed?
Also with this method, will itunes still recognise my iphone and ipad or will I need to set them up as new devices again?
*
thanks

If you place the iTunes folder in User/Music it will.

If you place it elsewhere, hold option while opening iTunes and it will let you point iTunes to your library.

All playlists and ratings, etc will be preserved.

Yeah that's what I'm planning to do - just replace folder in user/Music.

thanks :)
