Will I have a chance to get the new MBP faster on release day vs Pre order?

Should I wait until release day to purchase, and select pick up in store? Do I have a chance to receive it faster that way?

I want to purchase the 16' 64gb 2tb version, but shipping in checkout page states Nov 30 - Dec 7. I'm hoping I can get it much sooner.

As that is a BTO configuration that you're after, you're not going to get it any sooner by waiting for release day. Best order it soon before it pushes to January.

Good idea. Not sure when they charge on a custom config order.

Dunno about the Macbook Pro, but I got my Apple Watch Series 7 that way. Delivery order was for second week of November, but on launch day 5:30am Pacific I logged into the Apple Store on my iPad and was able to buy one for in-store pickup that day.

There will be a higher end model in stores, but don't know what it will be yet. But likely not exactly what you want , only way for that is custom build.
