I currently have a 2010 iMac running 10.6.8 Snow Leopard.
I'm looking to upgrade to a 2011 Mac Mini Server.

I currently have the iMac setup with Time Machine for backups.

Will I have problems in using Migration Assistant to set the new Mac Mini up with the iMac Time Machine backups?

Will there be any other issues going from Snow Leopard to Lion Server?

Thanks Heaps....

You can't upgrade from non server to server. http://images.apple.com/macosx/server/docs/Upgrading_and_Migrating_v10.7.pdf

Also, is this just a work station? Why do you want to use a server OS for your workstation (if that is the case)?

Absurd. Of course you can. Going from Server to non-Server might be more problematic, but going from non-Server to Server works perfectly.

OP, just download Lion, install it, then download and install Lion Server (it's an addon, not a separate OS). Shouldn't affect anything significantly, except you'll gain the Server configuration tools.

Thanks heaps.

So I have to buy and install the Lion update onto the iMac first?
