Hi, I recently Jailbroke my first gen iPhone but didn't unlock to allow use on other networks, I just jailbroke and installed Cydia.

If I decide to do the process again again but this time unlock the phone for use on other UK networks, I'm worried that when using a different sim I'll suddenly incur all sorts of data charges if email pushes, or google maps is opened etc. Can anyone advise whether the data set up would have to be configured manually before Safari etc would work, or if I just popped for example, a T mobile sim in, would the sim contain the relevant settings and the Internet and data services just "work", thus hitting me with massive data charges as it wouldn't be an unlimited data plan on the new sim?

Alternatively, can all Internet based programs be disabled (not just roaming option) so these services would only work on WIFI?
Hope this makes sense!
Thanks

James
