Will I know if i pre-ordered in time tonight?

Is Apple only allowing enough pre-orders for the amount that will arrive on release day? Basically what i'm asking is, will I know tonight whether or not I pre-ordered it in time so that it'll arrive on release day? Or will I not know until the shipping starts next week?

I ask this because I was going to try pre-ordering through Apple tonight, but if I don't make it in time my friend who works at AT&T was going to put my pre-order in with his tomorrow morning at 8AM through AT&T.

You will get an ETA one when the phone arrives. It will say something like "ships in two weeks" (example) if you won;t get it at launch.

Yes because it will say "Delivers by...." and tell you the date.

You will know.
