Will I lose unlimited data if I switch plan to Family?

i currently have an iphone. now the wife wants one (she'd be coming over from Sprint).

If I add a line, will I lose the 5gb unlimited data when switching from individual to family plan?

You shouldn't. The extra line just goes on your acct. Data is separate even though its required. All you are changing is your voice plan. Of course best to discuss w/ an ATT rep, but that is probably what they will tell you.
