Hi
I'm going on a cruise that offers wifi for a crazy hourly rate. If I want to stay in touch with iMessages and turn on the wifi just a couple of times a day to check will iMessages save any messages and download them to me when the wifi is on? Any idea how long I should give it?
Thanks much.

Not judging you but you're going on vacation, it can wait. I went on a cruise last year, my phone stayed in airplane mode the entire time, as did my tablet, and I survived. Granted, it was a 5-day cruise and all the people I'd have REALLY cared about messages from were on the ship with me but it IS possible to disconnect for a week.

To answer the question, the system will cache them and should deliver pretty quick once the device "checks in" with the server.

Thanks. Good to know they are saved.

Is a vacation but wife's mom is having some health issues so being out of contact is not an option.
