Will Invisible Shield on the back of iP4 protect it from cracking when dropped?

I'm thinking of leaving the front of iP4 unprotected to really get the most out of the screen but maybe put an Invisible Shield on the back to protect it from scratches. Question is though, will an Invisible Shield protect it from cracking to some extent? It should, don't you think?

No. It's to thin to protect from drops.

Nope. It's mainly for protection against scratches, not drops.
