I remember hearing about a feature that would, rather than having to press the home button (or double tap for that matter), we would be able to swipe between opened apps with a five finger gesture to the left or right. And for that matter even get out of the app by pinching all five finger inward.

I used this all the time with the developer gestures in iOS4, can you use the developer mode again to re-enable them?

I'm curious to hear from anybody running the GM of iOS 5 that was released earlier - is it enabled for the original iPad, or only the iPad 2? I know that it was available only for the iPad 2 during the betas (I missed having it on my iPad), but is it still absent in the GM?

Sadly, it is not ;( I am running iOS 5 9A334 on original iPad and multitasking gestures are not available. This BLOWS.

Uh what? Go to settings - it is there. Ahh... original iPad ya you won't have them there. iPad 2 has them.

Aye, now that it finished downloading and it's installed, they would indeed seem to be gone. Well, that's a darn shame. Ah well, they were fun while they lasted. I'm sure there will be some astoundingly simple way to enable them at some point.

Whoa, I'm now confused again.

So iPad 1 supports this right?

The talk of the GM above got me confused but to clarify, iPad 1 has had these features available for a while now and will continue to do so onto iOS 5....?

The iPad 1 does NOT support the multitouch gestures the iPad 2 does unless you jailbreak.

You are able to enable the features on an iPad 1 running iOS 4.3, but there is no way to get them on the iPad 1 running iOS 5.
