iPad Will iPad 8 display work with iPad 7

Hello, so a few months ago I accidentally broke my iPad 7gen and didn't really care about it for some time except that the time that I bought a touch screen for it but the display was also shattered so I need to buy a new one and I'm seeing that some 8th gen iPad displays are actually cheaper than 7gen displays. And I'm wondering will the 8th gen display work with the 7.

From what I can see from iFixit, most of the parts (aside from the motherboard of course) are identical between the 7th and 8th gen iPads (they sell many of the replacement parts, including the screen digitizer as iPad 7/8 parts). It looks like the screens should be interchangeable.
