New batches, yes. Any older stock, you would have to update yourself.

It will take time for the update to make its way onto new iPads. Perhaps a couple of weeks, potentially a month later.

Once the GM is released, it is fed to the manufacturers, and is automagically loaded to the new iPads coming out of the factory.

Any that are still in on the shelves, well, no. It isn't that automagic.
