i ordered a spare charger yesterday but just sold off my 3gs just now. If it does not i will cancel the order.

Its the same exact connector, as long as it isn't a specific dock it should work.

If you are talking about the little white USB cable or the adaptor that lets it be plugged into the wall, then they are both exactly the same. I haven't even unpacked the cord that came with my Iphone 4, just usedthe 3GS plug that was beside my bed or plugged into my laptop.

Same here. I saw no need to unpack the new cord when my current one works just fine.

OP, i'm also assuming car chargers are exactly the same as well, but can't tell 100% as I do not have one.
