I doubt it. I believe Apple is under contract with AT&T . I don't know that the iphone will be able to be jailbroken under Verizon. I think it would be weird to have an iphone under Verizon. I can see Apple losing customers if they made the switch.

Contract issues aside, Verizon requires different hardware for the iPhone to work on their network. The iPhone will be on AT&T and only AT&T until 4G is introduced when both AT&T and Verizon will then be using the same standard.

Let's answer with another question. Let's assume all technical issues (GSM/CDMA/LTE) aside.

Jobs presented this to the Verizon board BEFORE ATT. Verizon turned it down and laughed Jobs out of the building.

Does Verizon deserve the iPhone because they looked a gifted horse in the mouth and said 'screw you, it will never work!'?

If they want it, let them crawl back and grovel after 2011. They had their chance. They blew it.
