Hi all

My main concern before the WWDC was the fact that Apple would possibly hold some of the features back of iOS 5 for a new up and coming iPhone. But from what I seen it looks like we're going to get them all.

Has anyone heard otherwise?

Cheers

Usually after the new iOS is announced developers start to discover new, unannounced features deep within the betas. That's where we'll find all the stuff that the next iPhone will get and the others most likely won't.

So far nothing, but wait til they introduce the next iPhone. I'm sure it'll have some feature that everyone will assume the iPhone 4 is capable of performing but won't get.

To be honest I'll be more than happy if we get everything that's been announced. That will be enough to prolong my iPhone 4's life for a year until I get my next upgrade.

Off topic, but I'd guess iPad 2 will be getting the lot without a doubt won't it?

There definitely will be features NOT available to iphone4 thats available to the next iphone. Apple will make sure of that or else there's less incentive to buy the next gen iphone.

You can at least be certain that everything you saw in the keynote will be available on the iPhone 4. They would never discuss new features for a phone that officially doesn't even exist yet.

Unless they specifically mentioned it was a feature for the iPad, of course.

3GS will miss a couple of feautures
iPhone 4 gets full functionality

iPad and ipad2 get full support obviously the iPad lacks camera features

... so if the iPhone 3GS will miss a couple features, what will those be? It made sense that the iPhone 3G didn't get multitasking because of resource issues, and that was a big feature of iOS 4. But what is the biggy in iOs 5?

I have a 3GS and I am missing the camera editing features as well as the camera access in the lock screen. Haven't found out more so far but expect to find things here and there.

Thanks for the post. Ah yes, the editing... Hmmm well... I get that. That might be CPU intensive and stuff like that. But you can't get the camera shortcut? What kind of crap is that?!

Not sure, maybe you need to activate it manually but so far I have not found an option of it anywhere...

Edit: a friend with an iPhone 4 had it on by default.

It will get all the features that have been talked about. The new phone may have additional capabilities that allow more features to be added later that only work on the new phone.

Ah , so iPhone 4 customers have it by default , but 3GS customers don't. Thats a bit dissapointing, because what can be the reason for Apple not to give 3GS owners a simple shortcut?

Im baffled.

Photo editing looks to be absent on 3GS.

Not a surprise there
