Just curious. It seems to be apple's new standard. Maybe they could implement the tech into the 30 pin connector?

Since thunderbolt can theoretically baked into nearly any peripheral, I would say it's possible, but not with the current hardware. The iPhone 5 could possibly get a thunderbolt 30-pin plus a new cable, but it would really drive the cost of the device and the cable, in my opinion.

Good point. Not to mention iOS is moving towards iCloud (ie. no cables). Apparently, speed of transfer doesn't seem to be a big enough factor to push Thunderbolt into iPhones.

No, but it will include the new bluray burner. ;)

I'd like to see it as I love the transfer speeds, but I don't see it unfortunately. Wish Apple proves me wrong.

Nah, they dropped firewire support from the iPods just to save a few pennies per iPod. They're not gonna rush to put in something that costs a lot more than that.

It'll be cheaper eventually, but not yet. And even then I think they'll do it just for the convenience of having the same plug everywhere, not for speed. The days of syncing everything all in one sitting are close to being over.

I need 10Gbits/s transfer rates on my iPhone

i believe there was an apple patent for a dock connecter with usb 3.0, usb 2.0, firewire, and thunderbolt. it was a few months ago and everybody believed iPhone 5 would have thunderbolt. i believe when the price comes down apple will include it but if they want to appeal to all markets a thunderbolt iPhone or iPad would not suit well right now.
