Hey guys,
I am super excited about the new 5S and since I am currently in the US I am considering to buy one. The thing is - I am from Europe (Czech Rep.) and will be going back in a couple of weeks. My question is: Will the iphone 5S work in Europe with the local carrier? From the apple.com website it seems like if I buy the UNLOCKED version it should work. Can anybody confirm on that? I dont want to spend 700bucks on a phone that wont work.
Thanks a lot for your help!

I would assume that if you are purchasing an UN-locked unsubsidized iPhone 5S that the phone would work in your country IF the frequency bands used in that country were compatible with the (many) bands that the new iPhone 5S is supplied with. Perhaps Apple would be the best to contact regarding compatible frequencies in your country.

Hi,

Almost 2 years ago I bought an iPhone 4S in Canada, new, and unlocked. I moved to Austria and it worked just fine with the carriers there. If you buy the phone unlocked it will work just fine.
