iPod Will iPod classic 5.5 sync with iTunes 10?

Im thinking of buying a refurbished ipod classic 5.5(80Gb).I use Itunes 10 and wondered if I will have a problem when i try to sync the older 5.5 generation ipod classic to Itunes 10 ?

Download latest version of iTune. It will definitely work

Thats the point.I dont want the latest itunes since I love Itunes 10.

If your iPod release date is lesser (below or before) to release date of iTune version, then it said iTune will detect your iPod.
