I do not see my attempt to post this before so I am thinking it did not make it in. I am sorry if this is a duplicate post.
I need to know the max height for an internal drive for a MBP 17" 4,1 as I want to put in a drive in that is 14.8mm high. The current WD 1TB drive fit just fine and it is 12.7mm and seemed to have room to spare. How to figure out without taking the computer apart and trying to measure the space OR without purchasing the drive only to find out that it will not fit?

Officially it is 12.5mm, but if you think there is room to spare, I still would advise against it.
