Will jailbreaking make me lose any data from my apps?

Hi, I am thinking of jailbreaking my phone with devteam's 0.9.7b6. Will the process of updating and jailbreaking cause any of my apps to need to be reinstalled and thus losing their data?

In order to achieve the highest level of success it is recommended that you restore and set up as new. However, you can always try it first by not restoring and see where that gets you. If it works great, if not, restore.

Before you go into this you should assume that your save game data, etc will be lost.
