Will leaving Facebook logged in kill the battery?

If I leave Facebook logged in all the time will it kill the battery? And also do you think it's possible that my mophie case is draining my battery when it's turned off? At 5%battery I have 5hours and 41 mins of usage and 9 hours and 54 mins of standby. I have the 32gb s4. And the last update has made my battery usage even worse. What can I do short of turning everything on the "smart phone" off?

Turn off itunes Wifi sync, delete items from the notifications page (Weather and stocks take up a lot of battery), under location services disable anything that is actively using your location, reduce to only the items you need (maps, notifications). Facebook does not drain your battery. Also, go through and close all open background apps from time to time.

well everything takes a bit of battery life, so just turn it off
