The reason i ask this is because i only use my mbp for college, nothing more and nothing less. It only comes out of my bag at college and stays in my bag at home.

Powernap would GREATLY benefit me due to the automatic backup when in sleep mode, so is there any chance it will happen?

Thanks guys.

I don't think anyone has an official answer for this, however since it greatly depends on an SSD I would say no. If an HDD spun up while in transit in your bag it would almost certainly crash the drive.

I have a 15" with an SSD and while the machine should theoretically support it I don't think Apple will push down a firmware that does.

No, only solid state drive devices. I could be wrong but I don't think even pro's with solid state drives (besides for retina) can get it at all...
