Hi i ordered a M14x with a 1x2 Intel 1000 and it sucked, teh highest opt was a wimax intel 6500 series card, but it's still a 2x2 and does not support a/b/g/n

Does anybody know any MB/MBP wifi card (airport extreme) can be transplanted to a M14x?

Or some wifi card with the same performance.

Thanks a lot :]

i just checked and the 1000 series card does support a/g/n. you might need drivers or something. check out the dell site.

erg sorry here is the correct option from dell

"Intel® Advanced-N WiFi Link 6250 a/g/n 2x2 MIMO Technology with WiMax"

will a 3x3 card fit there?

do i need to route an extra antenna somewhere?

You don't need a 3rd antenna, but you'll loose the benefit of the added range/speed. Just get the 6250 - it's exactly what you need.

Also, some manufacturers lock the BIOS to only certain model cards. I'd try to get a real Dell card, preferably from the M14x.
