Is it meant to work already?

I have an iPhone, Mac and iPad. I noticed in the Mountain Lion preview it says if you message on an iPhone. . .then you can continue the conversation on your iPad.

Does this work already or is it only on Mountain Lion.

The reason I ask is that. . .if I go from my iPhone to iPad/Mac - the messages I've sent won't be there. . I'd have to compose a brand new message and send it to that person - and even then I'll appear on their iPhone as a different person - then when they reply they will get a new conversation (so I'll have two different conversations instead of just one).

Does anyone know how to set it up?

I guess its because I have my old Apple ID. . . .my new Apple ID (an msn email address). . .and iCloud address (@me.com) and a phone number. Does anyone else have this problem?

Is Mountain Lion out yet ?

its currently in beta, due to be released later this month.

I had the same problem with DP4, I think this will be fixed by GM.

Thanks lad.

I just wondered if it was all meant to realise you were the same Apple ID currently - I guess Mountain Lion will fix it :)

If you're logged in with your Apple ID and have messages app running on Mac/ipad and have it to show at your # and email it will show the whole conversation.

You can run the messages app on Lion
