Will moving around scratch my HD?

Just a question I thought moving my MBP around whilst turned on might scratch the HD?

no but if it experiences enough shock the heads will crash and make the drive useless. I won't say that any little bump will do it but lets say probably a five foot drop will do it especially if there is disk activity at the time, which is why the MBP automatically parks the heads at relatively short intervals by default, or when it detects movement via the SMS.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just be careful and you will be fine.
