I currently have an older firewire enclosure which uses the Oxford 911 chip. I brought it with a DVD drive in it, then i put a 45GB drive in. That drive is now full so I'm looking to put a bigger disk in.

I've found a good deal on a lovely Maxor DiamondMax III 300GB 7200rpm drive with 16MB memory at a local shop, so I'm on the edge of buying it.

Only question is will my firewire enclosure cope with the 300 GB?

What info I can find on the web seems self contradictory, with many various limit being given for the 911 board. Some say it will cope with any drive, others say it can't deal with over 200GB etc.

Does anyone here have or know of a firewire enclosure with a 911 chip with a 300+ GB drive in?

Many thanks if you can rescue me...
