Sorry if this is a really dumb question but I figured you guys on here will know for sure.

I want to buy a 29” ultrawide 21:9 monitor but I wanted to know if my 13” MBP (late 2013) will support that type of display?

Thanks!

EDIT: the resolution is 2560x1080 with 100Hz Refresh

I have a Late 2013 13" MBP and it works fine on an LG 34" widescreen (3440x1440). Refresh is 60 Hz, but I think that's a limitation of this monitor... I have it connected with DisplayPort using one of the TB2 connections and a simple cable.

Well, that's good to know. Is there a difference or advantage to using DisplayPart over HDMI? I don't intend to do gaming or anything like that. Just some photo editing and web browsing.

For me, it's more about convenience/appearance and having the cable exit the left side of the computer next to the Magsafe power connector, rather than having cables attached to both sides. Made for a cleaner setup and easier to unplug and go (or reattach). I actually bundled the Magsafe, TB2, audio, and usb cables together with a velcro strap so that 'redocking' was easier. Obviously not as easy as the one-cable hookup possible with the later TB3 models.
