Dear Sirs,

I am a keen programmer and student who believed i would be helpful to have dual monitor display.

My Mac -
Processor - 1.86GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory - 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB

Ny Monitor -
GNR TS500 (Black) 15" LCD Monitor

I have looked on the apple store and see that they sell the Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter

SO the big question is will dual monitor work on my mac?

If by dual monitor your mean the builtin display and your additional monitor, then yes. It works a treat.

but are my spec's ok, will it even run! i don't really want this this to destroy my battery life.

Your 'specs' are fine. The GT320/330M is a very capable GPU and that is a small monitor.

I don't know what you are concerned with battery life for, if you're using a monitor you are near an outlet. Why not just plug it in?

thank all for the helpful comments - just ordered adapter now - happy programming

Dual Monitors from a Mac Air??

my apologies for hijacking this post but my question is related. I'm looking to run two display monitors (not ipads) off of my Mac Air. Can anyone assist me with (fairly specific) details?

Thanks
Scott

Dual & Triple Monitor on MBA

Scott,

For >1 wired external monitor, you are basically looking at either a USB-based solution and/or a custom (expensive) port adapter.

Here's a good article on the less expensive soultions:

Have a quick search on Amazon for the DualHead2Go DisplayPort by Matrox for the more expensive solution. Note that the Matrox box does not recognize individual monitors, it just extends the canvas.
