Will my processes on Studio still run when monitor unplugged?

Maybe a daft question, but I've been setting up a new studio today and busy transferring over 2tb of data from an external HDD which is currently forecast to take up to 18 hours. I need the monitor currently plugged into it to use for a laptop before the transfer will have finished. Is it ok to simply unplug the monitor an will the transfer continue seamlessly with the monitor unplugged?

The monitor is just a display, unplugging it doesn't mean an auto shutdown.

Can’t imagine why unplugging the monitor would stop the data transfer.
