Will need 2 phones - what's the best option?

I'm guessing if DW and I each pre-order a phone for our family plan both of us will need to stand in line, yes? This is not a viable option.

If we pre-order for mail delivery we may have to do it with 2 transactions resulting in one arriving days before the other. This is a better option.

We could buy one 5 and a used or refurbed 4. Is the price difference likely to be more than $100? If the differences are mostly cosmetic this will probably be the winning strategy.

Any other ideas?

Order 2 online. They will be delivered in the same box. No reason to stand in any line.

No one can advise about the iPhone 5 versus the 4. The 5 is just a rumor at this point.
